The Journey continues.

On April 14th 2021 we started our first ever Kickstarter campaign, hoping to get support for what back then was still just an idea. Now, six months later, we are fully set up with professional partners, a base stock, a good amount of first sales and this awesome new website. Here’s the story of how we got to this point

Welcome to the first blog post on our all new website. Here’s the story on how we got where we are now. Over the past years, Stijn, our creative founder, has worked on various brands, businesses and projects, always in the creative and arts industry. After many hours of brainstorming and planning the next steps in his carrier (thanks Angela, Rob, Monique and all those other inspirators!), mid 2020 Stijn decided to follow a new path that seemed to have been waiting long time already. Brand, design, art, mindfulness, mirrors… all these elements clicked in the idea of Mindmirror.

With some evergreen designs in his back pocket and many ideas for new work, Stijn started working on the idea for Mindmirror. Over a six month period a collection, a brand name and a network of partners all fell into place. Now it was time to see if the market was ready for Mindmirror.

For this, and to raise a starting capital, we decided to set up a crowdfunding campaign. If we could motivate a bunch of backers to support our idea, we would promise them, and ourselves, to take it to the next level. So on April 14th 2021 our first official crowdfunding campaign was launched on Kickstarter.

For a period of one month backers from all over the world could support us with a pledge, for which in return they would be the first to own a Mindmirror. We got down to writing emails, put our advertising in place and got busy on social media. Long story short: on May 14th we reached our set goal and were officially funded!

Thanks to our family, friends and first backers, an awesome idea had turned into a promising business. So over the months of may and June, we got to produce our first batch of mind mirrors, which we delivered successfully to our backers first week of July. During the production we were positively surprised, as the laser engraving in the mirrors turned out even better than we had ever dared to hope. It is as precise and clean as one could wish for (but sure, judge yourself!). 

The past six months seemed to have gone by in a blimp, and now, with a revamped website, we are ready for the real work. This blog is part of what we have got in store for you. We’ll use it to take you behind the scenes and to give you creative tips and useful updates.
